Cameron Hochrein - Director of Operations
Cameron started working at Swagelok as an intern while attending BGSU. After a failed college attempt in Journalism, Cameron started back at the factory in shipping and receiving handling raw material for a manufacturing plant. Cameron then operated conventional machining as well as CNC programming while attending school during nights. Cameron graduated from Lakeland Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. From there he moved to Engineering at Swagelok in New Product Development (NPD) as a design technician while continuing education at Cleveland State University. In NPD, Cameron’s roles were designing experiments, product testing, material testing, CMM work, data analysis, project management, Solid Works, as well as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Cameron was a significant contributor to the 40G series, DB development, and some semiconductor projects. While in NPD, Cameron mentored and was part of the Lean Steering Committee as well as a rotational role in Materials Lab training cross departments on lean initiatives. Cameron then moved to technology development working on global initiatives and managed various projects. Rounding out his career at Swagelok, he moved to the Fitting Service Group as a technical service representative. Cameron visited the distributorship in Columbia, South Carolina where Rod Busbee then offered a position at the distributorship to be a contract/project manager mainly responsible for the MOX project at the Savannah River Site. Cameron achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in technical management during his time in Columbia and successfully closed the project with MOX, BF Shaw/CB&I.
Cameron and his Wife, Christine have twins (Cameron and Charlotte). They moved from Columbia to Simpsonville recently after moving to the Piedmont, South Carolina office. Cameron enjoys the outdoors, traveling, volleyball, golf and biking, dining out, comedy, live music, craft beer, and Cleveland sports. He cherishes spending time with his kids, so most of the hobbies are put on hold. On most weekends as a family they can be found enjoying the community pool. All of Cameron’s family live in Ohio, so a couple of times a year they visit family and friends back in North East Ohio.
