Regional Sales Specialist
Position Description
Position Summary
The Regional Sales Specialist position at Swagelok Georgia | Jacksonville | South Carolina is a growth opportunity to work on a team, build relationships and help customers reach their goals. This position falls under the Sales Department and reports to the Sales Support Manager. This individual will:
- Apply the full breadth of Swagelok fluid system products, services, and custom solutions to deliver value beyond our customer’s expectations
- Develop an effective sales plan to maintain, contact, and grow various segments of Swagelok Georgia | Jacksonville | South Carolina accounts
- Partner with marketing, field sales, and operations to provide an high level customer experience
- Receive inbound calls, and have the ability to understand the full scope of the customer’s needs for upsell opportunities
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
The following list details the principle duties and responsibilities for the Regional Sales Specialist position.
- Maintain frequent contact with selected accounts and continually provide relevant information to provide value and develop a relationship as the fluid system expert.
- Receive calls from customers, ask insightful questions to understand their complete needs, and create awareness of other product lines and services to grow sales
- Assist in preparing quotes as required along with utilizing templates to streamline customer service quote entry
- Maintain CRM database through timely reporting of sales team appointments, updated contacts, monitoring/reminders of committed tasks
- Assist in managing opportunity flow, opportunity pipeline, and next steps with sales team
- Utilize various resources such as LinkedIn and Google to research and identify new areas of business to identify, capture, qualify, and develop leads
- Follow-up on and qualify inquiries, orders, sales opportunities, out-of-territory activities, and any other leads generated by the business.
- Assume point of contact for walk-in customers
Product and Service Application Responsibilities
The following list details the necessary product and service responsibilities for the candidate to be successful as a Regional Sales Specialist.
- Primary sales responsibility for Swagelok fittings, valves, regulators, hoses, measurement devices, sampling systems, services, and custom solutions
- Develop application knowledge for all primary product and service responsibilities for the industry mix located in assigned territory
- Utilize internal and external resources to gain an understanding and become an applications expert in applicable industries served
Travel
Overtime, time in the field will be expected. There will be occasional travel for customer visits and training. It is reasonable to expect traveling with sales reps on occasion as well, however 90%+ will be based in the Alpharetta, GA or Greenville, SC office.
Requirements and Critical Competencies
- Undergraduate degree: Preferred Engineering or related fields (Business, Marketing)
- Or 5-10 years of experience in Inside Sales role or outbound Customer Service role with proven results
- Superior communication skills: listening, writing, and phone skills
- Mechanical or technical aptitude (ability to learn)
- Candidate must be: self-motivated, results-oriented, customer-focused, and a team player
- Experience using a CRM software is a plus
- Works well in ambiguous situations requiring creative approach to problem solving
- Ambitious, take-charge mentality—problem solver
