T Series Hose Transition to a Crimped Design

T Series Hose now has a Crimped End Connection

This is a formal notification as part of Swagelok Georgia | Jacksonville | South Carolina's continuous improvement to keep our valued customers informed of a current product change.

We have made some improvements to our T-Series hose (these are our Teflon lined hoses with a stainless-steel Over-braid). We have moved from the previous Swage or bell-shaped compression end connection, to a crimped design which allows the T-Series hose to withstand even higher pressures and temperatures. To help with a smooth transition, we have ensured that all existing certifications from the swage design, such as CRN and ECE, are already in place.

We would like to remind you that, in addition to the newly improved T Series hose, our team offers a variety of core hose materials that can assist in ensuring the longest life hose for your applications. To help you evaluate your options, our Hose Advisory Services are available to evaluate your hose options and determine if there are any opportunities for cost savings. A detailed report with prioritized improvement recommendations and suggested replacement options is provided as an output of the evaluation.

As always, we appreciate the opportunity to work with you and remain available to help you with your Fluid System needs. If you have any questions regarding the update, please do not hesitate to contact your Sales Associate, our Field Engineers, or our Customer Service Team.

The previous design on the T series Hose was a swaged end connection and will now feature a crimped design. The new design offers significant advantages over the older swaged product:

  • Increase in pressure rating at elevated temperatures
  • Improved traceability moving the material from trace 2 to a trace 1 design with a stamped code

Changes include:

  • Smaller minimum ID and maximum OD due to crimping dimensions
  • Shorter live length due to the extended length of a crimp collar
  • Updated appearance of the crimp collar compared to the swaged design (see visual below)
  • Improved pressure and temperature ratings (see chart below)
