H7 Tolerance

Our Account Manager, James Wolf, has developed a strong working relationship with a company that manufactures large skids that produce high-purity hydrogen gas for use at various stages in the liquid gas supply chain around the world.

The customer was designing a new system that included a special nozzle requiring an H7 tolerance to achieve the proper mixture of raw materials needed in the process. The nozzle would need to maintain identical flow control across a bank of inlets.

With such a distinctive situation, James called upon Swagelok Factory Field Services to identify a "made to order" solution that would meet the customers' requirements.

Working in collaboration with the customer and the Swagelok Engineers and technicians, James and the group confirmed the critical dimension requirements of the system while maintaining the H7 tolerance on the orifice. A plug and tube adapter were designed to replace the orifice, and drawings were supplied to the customer for evaluation.

After customer review and approval of the design, we took the next step to guarantee how the end-product would be tested and verified prior to shipment. Most competitors would not be able to provide a guarantee for such a unique application as this. However, having the relationship, expertise, and resources to provide a viable solution with the guarantee gave our customer confidence to purchase over 100 of these custom-made products which in turn met their customers' needs.
